DROOG is the DJ cadre of Andrei Osyka, Brett Griffin and Justin Sloe. We play dance music -- techno, house, minimal. DROOG has had the honor of playing alongside influences such as Richie Hawtin, Lee Burridge, Damian Lazarus, Tiefschwarz, Three, Mr. C, Booka Shade, MANDY, Jamie Jones, Matthew Dear, Magda and Tiga. We currently have a residency at Avalon (Hollywood), as well as promote our own parties, including a recent Freak n' Chic label showcase at the WMC '08

Hector Cardenas
International DJ, innovative producer, founder and front man of one of the world's most legendary party organizations: FunkyTekno Tribe (FTT) and Organic. -DJ Hector Cardenas has emerged as a pioneering force in the house music scene and has continued to be instrumental in the proliferation of dance music on a global scale. Hector Cardenas' versitility as a DJ is second to none, applying his own unique and highly sophisticated stlye to all aspects of dance, ranging from future house and funky tekno to hip-house mash-ups and jazzy grooves. Starting out as a club DJ in 1989, Hector eventually joined forces with founding co-partners Kevon Banks and Jerry Sladewski in 1992 to form FTT just as the burgeoning underground rave scene was exploding along California's sunny shores. Firmly establishing himself as an FTT resident DJ, Hector has played at some of the worlds hottest clubs and has shared the stage with many of the world's premier electronic music artists such as DJ Sneak, Junior Sanchez, Mark Farina, DJ Dan, Daft Punk and The Basement Jaxx to name a few. After years of great success touring and producing parties with the FTT crew, Hector now spends a lot of his time traveling and playing the international club circuit as well as playing residency at clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area. Recently, Hector has toured Amsterdam, South Africa, the Domincan Republic and Mexico and is now looking foward to spending more time in the studio honing his recording and re-mixing skills. found this plain layout

Easily Influenced
Gelly Kusuma and Mikey Velazquez
Together, Mikey and Gelly both launched the self-coined "HAWT Movement" in February of 2006 in Los Angeles, California. Best friends united by their relentless passion for music, they set out to change the way that people looked at house music, parties, and just having fun in general. "At first we just wanted to start a record label in order to showcase our own music, meanwhile having the opportunity to sign our favorite artists that we admire", says Mikey. "Along with that came the party, and that's what really put us on the map and opened up doors to gradually build relationships that will forever change our lives".

In May of 2006, HAWT Afterhours was born. On every 1st and 3rd Friday since the inception, HAWT's underground parties have not only showcased the DJ talent of various quality acts from all over the world, such as Inland Knights, Justin Long, Johnny Fiasco and many more, but they have also displayed the talent of so many of the great DJ's in the local scene. "We always looked back to the beginnning, before we ever had a gig and knew that this was an important step, something that people needed and appreciated", says Gelly. "Overall, the main focus has always been on bringing back that old school house vibe at parties, bringing friends together with music, and just breaking boundaries and having FUN", according to Mikey. HAWT also stands for "Having A Wonderful Time", and they have done just that with the help of Eddie Barajas, Mike Magana, and many more along the way.

Keep an eye out for original music and remixes by EASILY INFLUENCED, which has been getting played by many world class acts such as Derrick Carter, Justin Long, Phil Weeks, DJ Mes, Natural Rhythm, Ricardo Rae, etc. "We think our versatility will surprise people. We really do love it all, and that will become evident in our music the longer and longer we do this", said Gelly. He continues, "we want our style to basically be versatility, and never want to hold anything back. If we're feeling something, whatever sound or style that may be, we make it."

Bykowski
"Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance. Of how much you really want to do it. And you'll do it, despite rejection in the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods. And the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is." -Charles Bukowski"

Jack Monforte
In the beginning there was Jack...or so the story goes.
Jack "Freedom" Monforte has been spinning for over two decades now.
An underground fixture since the late eighties, he joined forces with two other promoters
in the early nineties to create Sweet Sundays.
Shortly thereafter he moved to Alaska, where he saw an opportunity to bring the underground techno scene to virgin territory, today Jack is considered one of the pioneers of the Alaskan electronic scene.
Moving back to Los Angeles in the mid nineties saw Jack earn a residency at
Club Diva where he opened up for Richard Vission and live acts like,
Rozalla, Donna Blakely, Alyus, Bad Boy Bill,etc...
In the early part of 2001 Jack along with partner K.C. Santana created Soulplanet Sessions.
a place where musicians,Djs and dancers could come together and create magic.
Soulplanet Sessions has hosted the likes of Marlon D,Master Kev, Tony Powell, Wayne Lyons and numerous other DJs.
Apart from being a producer/ DJ, his other passion is Graffiti art and photography.
Jack's appearances have included...Dirty Dirty House Club, The Clinic, Faith after-hours, Inspiration, Therapy (FTWK), Movin, Union Square Lounge (NYC), The End Up (San Francisco) and countless one offs.
From spinning hip hop to the most soulful garage house music, Jack is
constantly looking for the perfect beat.

Two chances to say "Goodbye/Bon Voyage..."

Yep,

You read that right--"Goodbye/Bon Voyage."

This coming week will contain a HUGE milestone for me--I'm leaving LA! Not only am I leaving Los Angeles (I know that's a big deal in and of itself) I'm leaving the COUNTRY! Unlike previous trips where I was gone for a number of weeks, the next time I return to Los Angeles I will be a *visiting EX-PATRIOT* of the United States of America! A long-time desire of mine has finally manifested into reality--I'm gonna be living in Europe!

In honor of that, I'll be playing TWO farewell gigs! The first will be at my residency for the last 7 years--Something Else! Monday June 25 @ The Brig (1515 Abbot Kinney Bl. Venice 90291 (310) 399-7537 thebrig.com ) One of my former partners, Chaka, has spoken to the owner so he and ToneArm will be taking the reins after my departure (SO GO SUPPORT THEM!!)

The 2nd gig will be Wednesday June 27 (the night before I take off) at my friends' Adam (Dj Adlove) & Scott's night @ The Hideout (112 W. Channel Road Santa Monica, CA 90402 (310) 429-1851 www.santamonicahideout.com/ ) There's actually room to dance, and I'm expecting some of you to test that theory... ;)

Both gigs are at bars, so it's strictly 21+ w/ID, 9pm-2am and no cover (so DRINK UP!!)

I know some of you won't be able to make either of these--I love you anyway. If you have a minute, send me a "message of love" (as the pretenders would say) and I'll carry it in my heart to my new home in Sitges, Catalunya, Spain. Btw, I'll be Dj'ing out there, so if you're gonna be in the Barcelona area hit a bruh up, k?

If I've forgotten anything important...
...lemme know!

From Lauren from Next Aid:

Dear friends that play records:
Gabriel and I inherited over 1000 records since a friend of ours is not in the position to be paying storage for them or to consider having them shipped across the world to where he is now living, Scotland. Some of you know the one and only Aljay! Well, he collected these records from all over the world starting in the early 90’s until he left the U.S. in 2002, most of which he accumulated in the late 90’s in San Francisco while working for Groovetech Radio. So there is a lot of that period/style in the collection.

He was not able to keep up with the storage unit fees so Gabriel and I covered it for while and ended up quite a bit of pocket. Our goal is to make back the over $1000 USD we spent, by the end of April. We hope you can help us and find some musical treats!

Please email me to set-up at time for you to come in. I work out of the house so I am here most every day all day next week. There really are some gems in the collection so please come take advantage while helping us out too. J We have one turn-table, great if you can bring headphones.

Please pass on to your friends if you think they might be interested.

If you want to know more about pricing and what kind of music is available, please email jordanisms@hotmail.com. Jordan has been sorting by genre and pricing the records from $1-$5 and more for the super gems. He can fill you in. (Thanks Jordan!)

Thanks!

Comments:
ON LIMITED GREEN VINYL. Kinky Vinyl regulars Paradise Soul r eturn with a production that sounds like it's from outer spa ce, literally. The synth design has a brilliant futuristic a lien feel while still retaining warmth and beauty. As the tr ack progresses it takes on an Underground Resistance / Knigh ts of The Jaguar feel as more and more brilliant uplifting s ynth arpeggios creep into the mix along with trippy pads / a tmospherics and strings. WOW!

Comments:
Tasty new stuff from Martinez' red hot Out Of Orbit camp as fresh face Ibn Al Khimiya throws down 3 brilliant electro ho use cuts. "Rendez Vous At Night" is a smooth rolling house t rack with Middle Eastern vibes meeting German/Danish product ion touches. Al Khimiya takes it deeper and funkier on the B -side with "Conference Of The Birds" and "Vakula Beat".

Comments:
This talented young producer sure set the world on fire rece ntly with his 'Love Dose' on Poker Flat. So much so that the Raum Musik label wisely scored this 4 tracker from him that 's already getting plenty of support from the Perlon/Musik K rause/Cadenza bigwigs. Tracks like "Stravoma" and "Evaquate" are teeming with found sounds that seem to come at you from all directions while low rolling basslines attack from unde rneath. If you are a freak for wonky, cut-up tracks ala Roba g Wruhme then you'll not be dissapointed.

Comments:
We've been telling you about these guys for a few years now. The brothers Nick & Danny Chatelain run one of the most suc cessful record distributors in Spain along with getting vote d as two of Spain's top 10 dj's their productions have appea red on Doubledown, Beat Freak, Big Chief, Weekend, Maya, Azt lan and more recently Ovum. Here for the NRK Honchos sub lab el they drop two massive productions. The A side's "Sube Con migo" has a monstrous swinging groove with beats that push a long thanks to a beefy tom groove that acts as the bassline. The track has a trippy Spanish vocal and huge over the top building breakdown. On the flip "I Can Hear You" dives deepe r into Aril Brikha territory with a production that has deli cious filtering key stabs, tough funky beats, a nasty touch of acid & effects and some vocal bits to spice things up in all the right places.

Comments:
Now after releases on Visitor, Gourmet, Brique Rouge and Big Chief Fex brings his tech meets electro house sound to the mighty Systematic imprint. Already championed by Steve Bug, "Beautiful" is a clever combination of warm string riffs, pl ayful female laughter and jacking electronic rhythms featuri ng a grinding electro bass drop midway thru. On the flip pre pare to go just a bit deeper with the liquid "No Problemo", a warm Moon Harbour/Dessous-styled house track with hypnotic pads, tweaky synth bleeps and an amazing shuffle groove.
Comments:
Currently riding high with their killer Spirit Catcher EP's, Jean Vanesse and Thomas Sohet return to their Only Freak gu se to retools the classic Carol Williams tune "Can't Get Awa y". New vocals are sung by DKD's Rasiyah and completing this essential new package is a booming remix from Solid Groove who combines his trademark jacking beats with proper, catchy and uplifting Daft Punk styled production. His rework lifts this track to near anthem status. Rounding off the package is "Viper Vapour", a rocking track in the style of their rec ent Silver Network.

Comments:
Deep underground house of the highest calibre here from Free range regular Mark Wadsworth aka Square One. "Sequential" ha s a brilliant deep swinging old school Moodyman feel, deep, tough, jacking and relentless. On the flip we have "Hi Rise" which takes things deeper into Dub Taylor / Raum Musik terr itory with lush atmospherics, Detroit stabs and watery dubby grooves. Diaspora's Deepchild finishes things off with a re mix of "Hi Rise" and it doesn't get any deeper than this. De epchilds rub still manages to inject a chunk of funk with a banging new bassline and breaky house beats.
Comments:
Pair of heavy hitters in the minimal camp have a go at Robag Wruhme's "Worktabular" on this sizzling two-track platter fr om Musik Krause. On the A-side Tobi Neumann lets loose a hyp notic stomper of clicks and whirs that gives way to a pulsat ing haunting vocal breakdown packed with a massive throbbing bassline. The flip from Luciano is more of a stripped-down d ub that highlights the percussion and sci fi whizzes. BACK I N!!
Comments:
Fans of Olivier Desmet and his solid Amenti label have been waiting with baited breath for Oh Dee's debut artist album, and here it is! This is a homerun double-pack of ace house m usic grooves, with Olivier teaming up on eight tracks with a ton of underground heavy hitters. Collaborations with Chris Lum, Spettro, Chuck Diesel and Oriental Funk Stew are some o f the standouts here - but really all the tracks are awesome . From the dubby late night filtered soul of "Disco Dust" to the stomping, tracky "Rub it In" and jazzy sultry flavors of "In the Mood."

Comments:
Good A&R'ing on this dope new release from Baystreet. The or iginal mix of "Broken Bitch" has an awesome Audiomatique / O ut Of Orbit sound with acidic bass, swinging chunky beats a nice little vocal hook and multiple layers of bleepy acidic analog synths. Martinez is a perfect fit to remix this tune and puts a darker edge on the track with evil sounds & synth s, the hot vocal hook and some tripped out fx.
Comments:
An all-Canadian cast lays down some cutting edge micro-house pressure here on the Oni Tor label.

Comments:
Dessous/Moon Harbour producer Frankman returns to action wit h this smooth deep/minimal house winner that reminds us of e verything we like about the German sound. The a-side catches you with an infectious bass-type lead sound bouncing over d ubbed-out bass, warm twinkling pads and an amazing rolling h ouse groove. Think Plastic City sound but deeper, way deeper . Not content to stop there Frankman drops a pair of sleek m inimal tracks on the flip that are perfect for later on in t he night.
Comments:
Second release on the Suburban Tracks sub label Suburban Bea ts which focuses on the housier side of the spectrum comes f rom Out Of Orbits Nima Gorji. This double A sided gem featur es two slick house productions which are sure to please fans of Martinez, Robag Wruhme and the Wighnomy Bros, deep techy pumping house productions with great synth work and German flair.

Comments:
Progressive heads already know Ben Camp for his stuff on Sil ver Planet/Inversus etc and now he brings his tough, techy s ound to Germany's Boxer imprint featuring a great Einmusik r emix on the flip. The main mix of "Manhattan" is driven by a nasty live bass guitar line, crashing acoustic snare groove and tweaked bass riffs that give this sucker plenty of bite . Einmusik's rub is a stripped-down techy groover that plays around with the beats from a shuffle to full-on techno 4/4' s.

Comments:
Easily one of our favourite Sender releases to date!! Chizh & Cast deliver a brilliant A-side that blends tech house and glitch together not unlike Nathan Fake or The MFA, giving t his one tons of crossover potential. A thick lush priduction with sharp grinding basslines and thick pads, over a drivin g groove.

Comments:
The man from Switzerland and integral member of the Cadenza crew drops two wicked stripped-down slabs of minimal gear fo r his own Num label. "The Darkened Component" has all the to ols you could want, from a rump-shaking micro groove to capt ivating sounds and hypnotic bass patterns. Expect the usual support from Luciano, Villalobos, Quenem etc on this one.
Artitst / Title / Label: HILTMEYER INC./P. FRISBY

Comments:
Two new heavy Gomma club tracks on wax taken from the forthc oming "Gommagang 3" label comp CD. First up is Nicky's remix of Hiltmeyer Inc.'s "Final Ahh" with a huge rocking Fender bassline, tough disco drums, hypno-synths, sleazy vocals (we ll better yet moans) thats fits in nicely with the newer Ron g material, Brennan Green & LCD, basically brilliant dancefl oor funk. On the flip Oliver Koletzki goes under his Parker Frisby guise to lace us with a storming jazz/funk/punk/tranc e(?) dancefloor workout. More tough live basslines, hard as nails drums, & synth work that will take you back to the day s before trance was called trance...get it people? Top notch material from the ever experimental Gomma stable.

Comments:
Beautiful chord-driven tech house from the Crew who've been getting support from both Nathan Fake and James Holden here on their latest Modelisme outing. "Clarke" is a bright, upli fting electronic house workout that definitely has some Bord er Community spirit that crosses over to the prog house crew . Gorgeous strings, bleeps and hypnotic extended breakdown. The flip features a pair of crisp minimal groovers stripped down to the essentials: driving beats, tweaky synth bass lin es and sparse atmospheric touches.

Comments:
Massive return for these guys on the Kumquat label which is quickly establishing itself as the hot new kid in the prog w orld. This is the 2nd Absolut and Blade outing for the label and its a stunner! With booming shuffled beats, tweaky elec tro synths and dark textures "Crash" opens with a bang. The main drop features an infectious gated synth lead that remin ds us of Fluke's classic early style but with a much more ba ss-heavy, twisted approach. The flipside track is a Moroder- ish bassline track with nasty acid flips and pulsing energy ala D Nox & Beckers stuff.

Comments:
Second scintillating release on the Bimotor Dj imprint follo ws Dean Coleman & Hernan Cattaneo's "Behind The Music" with more powerful tribal house grooves. "Freak Out" in its origi nal form features punchy Forensic styled beats, deep bass, r olling tribal toms, extra large effects and a wicked synth h ook. The track builds into a dramatic breakdown which goes f ucking off. On the flip Paulo Rocha (Magne/Black Vinyl) prov ides the remix and chunky tribal Chus & Ceballos flavored ru b that might just outshine the original.

Comments:
Often imitated never duplicated, the Beat Freak sound is ali ve and kicking on this killer from Terry Numan & Darioi Nune z. Big over the top speaker rattling gear here with dope bit s of tribal percussion, watery effects and a sleek ethnic fe male vocal. On the flip "Maragua" has that bad ass tribal ho use sound that has been shaking the asses of the masses.
This Danny Buddha Morales produced gem was a rare gem for th ose lucky enough to find the original, a perfect blend of so ul, tech and groove that has become the trademark sound of S ander, Tenaglia and Digweed. This package on Baroque contain s the Pete Heller remix, originally our on Junior 5 years ag o and the Creamer & K mix which recently saw the light of da y on Tweeked.
Comments:
The elusive Andro turns in two fantastic mixes of Frankie Go es To Hollywood here a full vocal and a dub infused with the big bad bassline of the original and some tasty acid lines over a proggy groove. LIMITED STOCK!

Comments:
With a blistering remix from Marcos to go with an impressive original version this is one uplifting trancer that you won 't want to miss! Done very much in the pumping style that Pa ul Van Dyk has made famous thru his Vandit label the origina l mix blazes thru infectious melodies and monumental builds. Marcos' remix adds an even more anthemic feel ala Second Su n/Nu Nrg stuff. Essential!
Comments:
Deep late night progressive gear on the Baroque vibe with wa tery effects, driving beats, dark bass, dope key stabs and a heavily effected male vocal part that sounds like it was ta ken from an air traffic controllers conversations.
Comments:
"My Lexicon" was the track that truly vaulted Sander into wo rld-wide stardom so for the 20th release on his Little Mount ain label he presents a brand-new 16 Bit Lolitas remix that takes the original {also included here!} into some amazing n ew places.

Comments:
Fred Numf and Etienne Overdijk deliver another top notch pro duction with this deep & dark progressive monster. The beats are pumping, the melodies & bass are dark as hell, the effe cts are twisted and the energy is relentless. Pure peak time drugged up gear. Remix comes courtesy of Stef Vrolijk & 16 Bit Rockers who turn in a more electrofied rub, twisting the melody around with fresh new synth riffs, bumping bass and a touch of acid which takes the track into more uplifting te rritory. A great package from some heavy hitting artists.
Comments:
The "International EP" series returns to the label with three varied funked up techno bangers. On the A Chris Cowie provides us with the hard hitting no nonsense "Bitch On Me" with tough b-boy flavored vocal bits, retro Todd Terry synth act ion and rugged funky drums.
Comments:
The mysterious Bootek returns to action with two pumping har d dance cuts supported in the UK by Phil York, Dark By Desig n and Jason Cortez. The a-side is a techno-oriented drum wor kout with stabbed sample edits swiped from Les Rhythmes Digi tales "Jacques Your Body" while the b-side is a hi-octane bu rner in a Tidy Trax style. Huge!!
This "Special Edition" version of "Remaniplator" features Be n Sims at his finest, delivering a spanking Afro-tribal/tech workout thats already been a staple of Carl Cox's sets for a while now.
Comments:
This guy is one of the most consistently excellent producers out there, once again delivering some amazing tech house/prog pressure championed by longtime fans Sasha and John Digweed. "Crackdown" works signature techy percussion with a tough kick, thick dubby b-line and smooth, rolling synths sounding like equal parts Junkie XL and Jark Prongo.
Cave's Spilo label welcomes this up & coming Swedish produce r to the family. With releases on Hertz' Sway and Abyss labe ls this guy ain't no rookie and this 3 tracker drives that p oint home.
F Communications hipster sub label returns with two fantasti c deep techno excursions from Kobbe (Sondos/Intec/Invastion) and Trish (MB Elektronics/Pocket). "Exploration" is an 11 m inute journey into tough funky melodic techno while "Voyager " on the flip has a more tech house feel with warm synth sta bs and an Aril Brikha kind of feel.
Precision Cuts relaunch their label Smart breaks as they deliver this solid 12" Original track starts off funky then goes up with solid breakbeats & a smooth vocal from Sara Pope.
Comments:
Solid Groove, the man with more hits than Pete Rose has a go at this monumental moment of house music history, the resul t is nothing short of genius. Solid Groove's mix is a tough as nails cut up that freaks out every part of the original f rom the bits of Corrina Joseph's vocals to the drums which h e hardens up more than a bit to every original sound which h e uses to massive effect. When the main hook comes in well, as in the original mix all hell breaks loose.
PUMP UP THE JAM
LUCKY 7

Comments:
Wicked nu school breaks re-rub of Technotronic's "Pump Up Th e Jam" from the Lucky 7 guys who have really stepped things up here. The molten breaks have a Rennie Pilgrem-style edge to them alongside distorted subs, synth riffs and vocal stab s which give this mix a ripping peaktime edge.

Track Listing:
A1. PUMP UP THE JAM

GRAFFITI

Comments:
Hot on the heels of the sublime single 'Paradise' from the a lbum of the same name, the Stereo MCs return with a classic trademark cut with cutting edge remixes from Caveman and Dee kline & Wizard. Deekline & Wizard are in typically unabashed breakbeat mood, twisting the Spanish flavoured guitars in a nd out of the mix, and laying down scratches and all manner of atmospheric touches. Futuristic yet dirty, it is a meetin g of two totally different but equally distinguished crews t hat will drive breakbeat heads crazy for months to come.

Track Listing:
A1. ORIGINAL MIX
B1. CAVEMEN REMIX
B2. DEEKLINE & WIZARD REMIX
Artitst / Title / Label: DEF INC
ACID ROCK
777

Comments:
Def Inc rock the beats from Jonzon Crew's "Pacjam" and lace in some new funky guitar riffs, acidic bass and a lead guita r hook that is absolutely infectious. As the track progresse s, scratches, nasty fx and clever bits of synths, drops and vocal samples keep things funky and moving. Pure party break beat jam here getting support from Aquasky and Krafty Kuts.

Track Listing:
A1. TRACK 1
B1. TRACK 2
FAT

Comments:
More ill breakbeats from the ever so solid Fat records. 3 m ixes of Mystic Man all for your musical enjoyment. 1st mix t he vocal mix, this mix has ragga style beats & cool effects. Flip for the Dub, ruff rugged beats without the MC. flip fo the Retro dub, this is the mix with powerfull bass energize d breakbeats & tight production,

Track Listing:
A1. VOCAL MIX
A2. DUB MIX
B1. RETRO DUB REMIX

Artitst / Title / Label: JAMMIN
THATS THE WAY / ROUND TREES
BINGO BEATS

Comments:
Zinc once again slows down the tempo of his Bingo D&B imprin t to unleash some rinsing breakbeat gear under his Jammin gu ise. "That's The Way" features funky old school breaks, a ca tchy female vocal hook and massive rolling bass all with fau ltless production. "Round Trees" on the flip is another nast y retro breakbeat gem with an assortment of funky breaks, re tro synth hooks, mad sounds & effects and another massive ba ssline.

Track Listing:
A1. THATS THE WAY
B1. ROUND TREES

SKIN OUT *BACKDRAFT*
Artitst / Title / Label: BASSROCK & DARKUS
SKIN OUT *BACKDRAFT*
BASSROCK

Comments:
Another solid release from the steady Bassrock crew, as he teams up with Darkus & Backdraft for a solid remix. Original mix tight drum loops with thunderous bass & fresh samples. On the flip they turn the reings over to Backdraft as he fin e tunes his re editing skills to bring us a monster breakbea t bomb.

Track Listing:
A1. SKIN OUT (BACKDRAFT REMIX)
B1. THE RAVERS RETURN

PHERNIE FUNK *SPLITLOOP*
PAYBACK PROJECT

Comments:
Dope new gear from new Canadian on the block Audit. "Phernie Funk" in it's original form features wicked funk vocal samp les laid down into nasty breakbeat grooves with wobbly nu sc hool flavored bass, sick sounds and a heavy dose of P Funk. Remixes come courtesy of Splitloop (Against The Grain) and C ircuit Breaker (Lot 49) both dropping the funk big time!

Track Listing:
A1. ORIGINAL
B1. SPLITLOOP REMIX

Trigger Holographic Bassforms Project_Jan6th_

!!!!!Friday January 6th!!!!!!

Human Hologram Interference Project…!
The brain creates this experience some call reality in a way not too dissimilar to how a hologram works. Our mission is to awaken the human consciousness through low frequencies with advanced computer programming and intuitive musical arrangements, allowing you to connect to a bigger awareness of ones self. The way Electro Breakbeat music uses electronic sounds and the way breakbeats or just breaks are programmed and played, truly has the ability through its rhythmic tribal/shamanic nature to connect the soul to the overmind (or godhead) or your inter dimensional time travelling self.

Trigger Records, RootaBreaka, Desiree, and Mobius Audiophile are proud to present the first Trigger USA All-Nighter. Join us, Friday January 6th, for a truly special experience as we reconstruct our holographic reality with low-frequency soundwaves and ultra-freaky electro beats.

All the way from the U.K. Representing Trigger Holographic Bassforms Project:

Lawgiverz
Lawgiverz a.k.a. R-Kidz and Noize have been dropping audio bombs for the last fi ve years on Botchit & Scarper, Trigger Recordings and more. Lawgiverz have produced, programmed and remixed with a bizarre selection of artists such as Jeff Beck, Dave Stewart and The Human League. They would like you to know that none of this really matters. Just that if you find yourself in front of the Trigger sound system during their laptop and turntable set, prepare to be destroyed with a helping of alien love in the Electrobreaks style. Their live show incorporates multiple decks, CDJ’s and a laptop and the pair mix, scratch and basically remix every track they drop!

Kosmikneil
Kosmikneils relationship with sound systems started with the free festival scene of the 80’s/90’s. This set the blueprint for Trigger, the club night Neil started in 1994, which has gained worldwide recognition. Neil’s dedication and passion for the sound that moves him is notorious and has seen him get bookings all over the UK and USA. As well as being resident DJ at Trigger and DJ’ing all over the world, he has twice attended the Miami Winter Music Conference with the Fuel Records crew and the infamous Fuel sound system cars, and toured the States alongside Tipper. In 2003 Neil formed Trigger Recordings to allow a greater audience to be part of the project, beginning with the renowned ‘Holographic Bassforms’ CD and now approaching its 6th vinyl release.
The Lawgiverz a.k.a. R-Kidz and Noize have been dropping audio bombs for the last five years on Botchit & Scarper, Trigger Recordings and more.
Their live show incorporates multiple decks, CDJ’s and a laptop and the pair mix, scratch and basically remix every track they drop! www.trigger.uk.net

What music blew your mind (or something like that) this year?

Top of my list is 'Sea Inside Body' by Kelpe. I guess it's a 'concept album' of sorts. Brilliant, intricate, moving, gorgeous. It just takes me "there" and is so inspiring in many ways........
Cirk-O-Six New Years in LA

ANON SALON’s SEA OF DREAMS “CIRK-O-SIX”

New Years Eve, Downtown LA
This New Year's Eve, San Francisco and LA based event promoters, ANON SALON are expanding on the long running success of their legendary SEA OF DREAMS New Year's Eve spectacle by raising the bar with this year’s CIRK-O-SIX, to be held at the historic Los Angeles Theater. This year’s burlesque theme combines the party with ongoing theater performances in the famed downtown theatre.

The Los Angeles Theatre was once considered one of the four or five finest theatres in the world and the event will raise the flag of the new Renaissance of downtown Los Angeles and call upon the Golden Era of LA’s Downtown Theatre District where vaudeville and burlesque used to fill its resplendent theatre houses. Anon Salon will bring the history alive with today’s most cutting edge, avant garde performance and burlesque troupes performing in this breathtaking theater with a surrounding labyrinth of party rooms containing Anon’s live and DJ musical favorites.

The theatre built in 1931 in the French baroque style of Louis XIV, was a virtual Hollywood cathedral. Famous for its huge crystal fountain in the lobby, not an inch of the interior was left undecorated from the elegant stage curtains and ornate balcony to the intricately-carved ceiling of its lobby. When the Los Angeles Theatre was about to go under during the Depression, Charlie Chaplin paid an exorbitant amount of money to keep the posh 1,967-seat theater afloat, so that he could have the grand premiere of his masterpiece "City Lights" there. When downtown LA was abandoned for other new neighborhoods and nightlife, the Los Angeles Theatre closed and had been sitting idle, except for occasional film shoots.

Cirk-O-Six will then merge this experience with its audience base of costumed revelers to create a unique and participatory evening of entertainment.

Additionally, there is a full art gallery space attached to one of the downstairs ballrooms that will house a large art exhibit of cirque and burlesque themed works curated by Mike Russek, co-founder of Transport Art Gallery and founder of the Six Degrees Art Festival.

Lighting and an interactive environment will also be created by Los Angeles event and décor wizards, The Do Labs.

PERFORMERS

On the theatre stage:

The Buxoticas of Lucha Va Voom
Buxom * Exotica * Buxotica
Lucha Va Voom is the hot new ticket from LA, combining burlesque, comedy and costumed classic “super hero” Mexican wrestlers. Lucha Va Voom has toured the country recently selling out 2 nights at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles and invited to perform at the annual Comedy Festival in Las Vegas this year.

Lucent Dossier
Exo- glAmour Shenanigans
Full production over the edge performance art troupe specializing in vaudeville and circus shenanigans with visionary costuming and unique choreography and mesmerizing dance.

Cirque Berzerk
Cirkus for the MisLed
Cirque Berzerk has recently been producing the dinner/cirque experience combining their cirque performances with a 4 course dinner at Abundant Sugar in the Brewery Art Complex. They also produced several events and hosted their large circus event at Burning Man 2005 under a 90 ft circus tent. Performers from Cirque du Soleil join their ranks.

Skin
Aerial performance combining multi media with live/electronica.

March Forth
High-energy, eclectic and mobile unit of good times, taking a Fellini-esque mix of Mardi Gras mayhem, afro beat, Mexican hustle, sultry samba, big band accompanied by their surrealist troupe of stilt-dancers and costumed beauties, they are the new love-party paradigm.

Live music from
Rosin Coven (Music from the Pagan Lounge, Burning Man)
Gooferman (KloWNifIED Chop-Hop)
HISTORY OF ANON SALON

ANON SALON, over the course of its 15-year existence, has helped redefine West Coast event production by producing hundreds of unique theme parties, theater festivals, art shows and even street fairs for Burning Man fans in both San Francisco and Los Angeles. The company was born out of San Francisco’s alternative art and performance scene of the 1980’s. From the beginning, they helped shape an ever-growing community of multi-media artists and event producers into a network of non-commercial, unadvertised one-off events and large public gatherings. Unlike conventional concert, club or theatrical events, these one-off gatherings were specialized one-of-a-kind theme party/events. Production laden and technologically cutting edge, they included not only music, but also performance artists, installation, lighting and video artists, theatrics and unique décor, that quickly began to attract an audience that brought their own ideas to the mix. The evolution of their party spectacles has always reflected the changing face of the creative community. As their website asserts, "ANON SALON teases technology, embraces the arts, and flirts with the unknown. … It celebrates all that's eclectic and electric in art, design, and media providing a place to grab new ideas before business as usual turns them into formulas.
Anon founders, JOEGH BULLOCK and MARCIA CROSBY have been central to San Francisco's alternative and underground art scene since the late 1970's. Besides ANON SALON, their endeavors include the GlasHaus parties of the mid-1980's, Icon Byte Bar and Grill (the first Internet bar and cafe in SF), the award-winning Climate Theater, the world famous Solo Mio performance festival. More recently, Joegh has co-created and co-produced San Francisco-based Burning Man Festival parties such as Flambé Lounge and the Decompression Heat the Street Faire.

In the early 1990's, they joined forces with then actor/director MARK PETRAKIS, known as “Spoonman” (from his popular alternative vaudeville revues called “COBRA LOUNGE”). An early web developer, already a part of the burgeoning technology scene, Petrakis was also responsible for Telecircus.com, a 1994 San Francisco arts community website that provided the first web presence for Burning Man, the Residents, Clubfoot Orchestra and many others.

Artist, event producer and social provocateur, MARK BAVA from the Monterey and San Francisco Bay Area entered the mix further bringing together audiences from communities from Humboldt to San Diego. Bava is also one of the founders of the LA Burning Man LaDecom Street Fair, Oracle Milleneum and the Blue Bongo nightclub in the Artist District of Downtown Los Angeles.

LA partner and co-producer, Stephen Samojeden is an east coast transplant who got his start in event productions in Colorado in the early Nineties. Working with friends he helped create Sol Productions, which grew to be one of the largest event production companies in the state. More recently he has helped create dozens of alternative art events in the Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles areas, including the yearly Los Angeles Burning Man Decompression Street Fairs.

Since its debut on NYE 2000, their SEA OF DREAMS event has been known as the must-see sleeper event for the in-the-know “cultural creatives”, attracting over 3,000 attendees each year to the sold out San Francisco events and last year’s LA event.

This New Year’s Eve, the ANON team will once again combine their talents and experience in the raising of Cirk-O-Six.

ShapeShifters--Tribal Breaks & Bellydancing - Sat.

An invitation to ShapeShifters--a night of transforming beings....

Hello Beautiful Peeps, Bellydancers, Art Mavens, Fashionistas and Delirious Denizens of the Underground Dance Scene

We have a delicious Tribal-Funky Freakfest to offer you this Saturday night…It’s an art and dance party that will leave you grateful that ya mama gave you an admission ticket to life.

For years, David Starfire and I have been DJing some sweet and crazy events (mostly in the Bay Area) where Breakbeats merge with World Dance Beatz. We have been wanting to create more of these Ethno Tribal Dance events here for our Southern California Dance Community.

Shapeshifters is the first such collaboration.

At ShapeShifters there will be an indoor room devoted to Funky Breaks with local legends Patricio, Ooah, David and Christian. Then outside, on the patio, the music will be devoted to delicious groovy Breaks and Tribal Beatz with strong flavas of India, Arabia and Africa.

If you love to Belly Dance or if you love Tribal Drums and Rhythms, you will want to visit the patio! Joining me there on the World Dance Beatz Crew will be Dandelion, Imagika and Tamer.

Dandelion has DJed across much of India. DJ Imagika is a belly dancer herself. Tamer's family is from Egypt, so he knows how to support you in the shimmy and shake. I have DJed Ethno Tribal dance sets across the country for crowds of over a thousand dancers (see my tribe photo album for the fun dance pixs). So we are prepared to dish it out for ya!

At 11:00 on the patio, I will be playing a set that will be begin BellydanceFunkySensual and will build to rock your sexy asses with bootie slammin Tribal Breaks and Beatz!

Out of respect for the neighborhood, we will have to chill out the music on the patio at about 1:00 AM. --- SO IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE OUR EROTIC EXOTIC PATIO DANCE SCENE, PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY.

The artists reception begins at 6:00. Come before 10:00 pm and you save $5.

DJ times
Outside
10:00-11:00 Imagika
11:00-12:00 Patrick Harvard
12:00-1:00 Dandelion
(then, if we can get away with downtempo, lower volume sound outside after 1:00 AM)
1:00-2:00 Dandelion
2:00-3:15 Tamer & Imagika
3:15-4:00 Patrick Harvard

DJ times
Inside
